At Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley, we understand the important role that not only our attorneys but plaintiff attorneys throughout California have in protecting the rights of those who have suffered losses due to other parties’ unlawful actions. We also understand that attorneys themselves have rights that must be protected, a role fulfilled by the dedicated organization of Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC). As such, we have pledged to spend $50,000 in support of CAOC’s ongoing endeavors to protect the rights of attorneys and plaintiffs across the state.
CAOC is comprised of almost 3,000 attorneys who represent plaintiffs in a variety of cases including defective product accidents, civil rights violations, personal injury accidents, work-related injuries, and medical malpractice. Since its founding in 1961, the CAOC has worked to promote camaraderie between trial lawyers, help further the education of members of the plaintiff bar, and work against legislation that would harm the rights of plaintiffs throughout California.
Throughout the years, CAOC has successfully fought against legislation that would limit the amount plaintiffs could receive in cases, make financial fraud cases significantly harder to sue, and limit contingency fees. Through it all, CAOC has continued to battle against corporate interests that would see legislation passed to support their interests over the rights of consumers everywhere.
