CZR Pledges $50K to CAOC, Sponsors Upcoming Fundraisers for Betsy Butler and Cristina Garcia

Personal injury law firm Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley has pledged $50,000 to Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), with proceeds going to support Assembly member Betsy Butler and candidate for State Assembly Cristina Garcia.

Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley and CAOC, along with other law firms, will be holding evening receptions for supporting Assembly member Butler and candidate Garcia as the 2012 elections draw near.

Garcia is seeking to be elected to represent the 58th Assembly District, which covers the city of Bell. With a history in education, including serving as a statistics professor at the University of Southern California, mathematics teacher at Los Angeles City Community College, and educator through the Jaime Escalante Program, Garcia is a proponent for quality public education and ethical conduct in government.

Assemblywoman Butler is seeking reelection in the 50th District of the California State Assembly, which she was originally elected to in 2010. Butler is dedicated to consumer’s rights, working family support, and environmental protection. So far, Butler successfully lobbied for the approval of AB 1319, an Assembly Bill that she created. Also known as the Toxin-Free Infants and Toddler Act, this bill bans the use of Bisphenol-A (BPA), which is known to be a health hazard, in baby bottles and sippy cups.

Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley and the CAOC support both of these candidates and their continued dedication to the rights of consumers. The fundraiser for Betsy Butler will be held on September 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Santa Monica and the fundraiser for Cristina Garcia will be held on September 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Los Angeles.
