Helping out residents throughout southern California both in and out of the courtroom has long been a goal for the law firm of Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley. Through a recent Toys for Tots drive, CZR was able to collect a total of 59 toys, which will be given to families and children in need this holiday season.
The Toys for Tots program is run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve and works to distribute toys to children in families that cannot afford gifts during the holidays. Every year, Toys for Tots runs a collection program from October through mid-December and then distributes the toys collected to families in late December. Collection boxes are located throughout the country at different businesses choosing to participate in the program and who encourage the local community to donate. Coordinators with Toys for Tots work to organize the campaigns in each community, but it is up to the members of each community to make the campaign a success.
Toys for Tots was created in 1947 by Major Bill Hendricks and a group of Marine Reservists in an effort to supply children in need with toys for the holidays. Since then, the organization has pursued its goal of delivering a message of hope to less fortunate children through collecting new, unwrapped toys from communities throughout the country. The toys collected in each community are then given to needy children within that community.
The entire legal team at Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley hope that the efforts of Toys for Tots and other service programs throughout southern California can bring hope to every family in need this holiday season.
